Not Pushing It

Instead of going through an unbearably uncomfortable day of work, I used a sick day to stay home and take of myself and my UTI. It was very, very weird being home alone all day long. I don’t remember the last time this has happened, and I actually kind of enjoyed it.

I took my time, making my coffee and breakfast and reading both the Trib and Sun Times. Then I got back in bed and finished up 32-fluid-oz. of cranberry juice. Now it’s hopefully working its magic.

Almost done, and yes I suck at pics!

So what else did I do on this frigid day in Chicago? Not too much, actually. I watched Ellen, and Lady Gaga was the guest star. Loved seeing Gaga talk about her newest music video “Marry the Night.” I’m telling you, that Lady is a Gagagoddess! 😉

My infection didn’t stop me from hopping on the treadmill though. It was extremely uncomfortable, but as the great Jillian would say, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable!”

Here’s the workout that I did. It ended up being about ~4 miles, and then I walked another 20 minutes.

I had to finish off the latest episode of Boardwalk Empire, and it was a doozy. Like straight-up, ancient Greek tragedy doozy. No wonder why Paul told me I wouldn’t like this episode.

Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire

It was gross, upsetting and really stuck with me. Still, this is probably one of the best shows on TV right now, so I know the main character will redeem himself…at least, I hope!

Off to chow done on some dinner now. I bought a can of artichoke hearts yesterday, and I’m really looking forward to adding them to a salad. Washed down by more cranberry juice, of course.

Enjoy the weekend and stay warm! I think I’m staying in tonight. No point in going out when I don’t feel my best.

What’s your favorite show on TV right now?
